Somboon Seafood

Another famous chain restaurant in Bangkok.

It's famous for two things:
the crab curry and taxi drivers who will try to take you to "fake" Somboon's... Really!!

A buddy and I went to the one near Silom and ordered the most famous dishes. I only took pics of my coconut frappe (tasted like pee--no joke) and the grilled shrimps. The shrimps cost 40 baht each (about $1.20).

Sabaai Jai Gai Yaan

This is the name of a very famous Issan restaurant in the Ekkamai/ Thong Lo area. Its open air, live music and grilled chicken make it a great place for a night out.

This was my second visit; I was doing "research" for two friends who will visit at the end of this month.

What I ordered:
The famous chicken (very juicy!)

My favorite dessert again (black sesame mochi in ginger tea)

Time's Square

I was in the area (no, not NYC!) and needed to eat. I found this Thai/ Chinese restaurant in the basement of the building, next to a bar.

The service was excellent, but a bit lonely -- I was the only customer!

I ordered a vegetarian green curry, which came with some really delicious bread. Does anyone know the name of this flat bread?

**Time's Square is the name of a large building near Asoke station. Inside are many shops and a few restaurants.
