Trip to Izu - Part 5

Posts and pictures from Shizuoka's Izu Peninsula, continue. Click below for the previous installments:

Did you enjoy yesterday's secret beach? There was time to visit another, so we headed further south on the Izu peninsula. This beach is often frequented by foreigners living in Japan and even appears on Trip Advisor, where it ranks #2 for attractions in Shimoda, Izu Peninsula.

The beach is called: Kisami-Ohama beach. It's family friendly, full of soft white sand, is perfect for sea shell hunting, and features crystal clear blue water. It's also not very crowded due to it's location -- it's far from any train station and is south of the touristy areas in Izu.

We arrived in time to catch the setting sun....

Rock outcrop near the far end of the beach:

Crossing a walking bridge, you can enjoy another section of Ohama beach:
It was a bit windy....

Izu really is for beach lovers. I hope you'll find time to visit. ^_^
