Afternoon Tea @ Mandarin Oriental | Part 5

We conclude our afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok.

At last, the sweets arrived!
Side A:
Side B:

An assortment of jams -- pomelo, raspberry and peach:

Detail of table flower (I know my Japanese readers' fetishes...you guys love macro flowers.)
We spent 2 hours here, munching, chatting, and of course, laughing. When Ms. D and I are together, we are constantly making up funny stories. ^_^ We were so loud, we scared away a Thai lady who was chatting on her phone. (laugh)

We both agreed, this afternoon tea was very nice, with great service.

**Special Bonus **
Do you recognize these royals? They have also enjoyed the Mandarin Oriental's famous tea..

  1. OMG that looks so tasty. Question: Did you have to eat all those sweets? Eww. I would take one or two, but could not eat the whole assortment. I'm glad you had a good time. Hugs, Anna

  2. Hi Mademoiselle Anna-Lise ^_^

Actually....we did eat all of that. (embarrassed!) Desserts in Asia are not as sweet and contain less sugar than ones in Canada.

I think the fruit cake and the chocolate cake were the only two we didn't eat. The bottom tier had finger sandwiches and cheese. The middle and top tiers were the sweets.

We started at 12.00 and made this our lunch. Afterwards, my friend and I went to another cafe for a coffee! (laugh)

I did have a good time. I teased my friend with a fake posh posh British accent. T'was uber fun. ^_^

  3. Wow!!! That is a lot of food for tiny you. I cannot eat that much and I'm two + of you. I'm glad the sweets aren't as sweet. When you finally get to PEI I will have to take you out to the Alib! Lounge. It's one of my favourite restaurants in Charlottetown. On Sunday nights it's Italian Mobster night and there is lots of pasta and pizza. The ambiance is very eclectic and unique. The staff are very friendly (hugs at the door) and the food is amazing. You can stay as long as you like (I've been known to stay for 5 hours at a time) and they have a collection of board games. After 10pm there is live music from local musicians of every flavour. Cuban night is my favourite by far. Hurry up and get here already! Love, Anna Lise

  4. (laughing) I'm tiny but have magical powers. ^_^ I am not sure how I do it either...I think it's my slow pace? But remember, my friend and I shared one set.

The Alib Lounge you mentioned sounds perfect. You said two magic words: board games and live music. I love both, so...when can I come? ^_^

You can stay for 5 hours? That sounds like something I would do too! On weekends I hang out at cafe for that long...drinking, eating, studying, chatting with the waiters...(laugh) It's called: "trying to avoid paying for air conditioning at home." It's a cutenekko strategy. (laugh) ^_^

You and I are so crazy...that's why we are perfect friends, no?

Hm...Recently, too many friends have invited me places -- you're the fourth! Here's my travel list:

    1) Ms. Flute teacher invited me to Nagoya (October)
    2) Ms. Mojo invited me to Cambodia (November)
    3) Ms. D invited me to Berlin (March?)
    4) Ms. Super Awesome Mademoiselle Anna - Lise invited me to PEI (when? I need a sugar daddy...) LOL

  5. You can come whenever you like darling. And as for a sugar daddy, if you find one, ask him if he has any brothers. I could sure use one as well. Like I said before, my place is your place, anytime you need it. Hugs, AL

  6. Hi Anna-Lise,

I just wanna come to try your cooking! Ever since you told me you studied how to be a chef, I have been intrigued! ^_^ I'll wash the dishes in exchange....

  7. I forgot to ask Anna-Lise, what board games do you like? I like Scrabble and Catan.

In Japan, I played Scrabble with Japanese friends -- and lost every time! (embarrassed!) It's true. (>_<)*

  8. Hi Sel,
I actually didn't study to be a chef, I did on the job training at a four star restaurant in PEI. It was fun and I learned a lot. The board games I love to play are Balderdash, Monopoly and Scrabble. I also like card games such as Skiboo and BullSh*t. I am always looking for someone to wash my dishes as I absolutely hate doing them. Haha! Hugs, Anna - Lise

  9. Hi Anna-Lise!

I will wash your dishes! As long as I can listen to Kylie while doing so...(laugh)

Monopoly never ends....@_@ But I like this game too.

    What is "Skiboo"?

  10. Skip bo is a card game that my family played almost every night when my sister was pregnant. We had lots of laughs. Here is a link to it.

Have fun if you find it. :) AL

  11. Thank you for the link! I checked it and this game looks very similar to another game I like: UNO.

I will try to find it. ^_^ I need friends to come over and play now. Anna-Lise! Get on a plane now!!! (laugh)
