The P&L Club @ Conrad Hotel | Part 2

The BK Magazine cigar tasting event continues...

As I had arrived early, the owner gave me a little tour. I viewed the barber shop first, then moved to the club's centerpiece -- the humidor! A humidor is a temperature controlled space for storing cigars. The temperature should be between 18 ~ 24 C with 65~72% humidity. Humidors come in various shapes and sizes; they look similar to a wine cooler.

This club's humidor was as large as a walk in closet. I took two pictures to give you a sense of the size:

I was in shock at the selection, so I took some close up shots. Here are some famous brands for those who enjoy stogies...

Romeo & Juliet (I have yet to try this one...)

Montecristo:

Drop by again tomorrow to see the tasting room, hear how cigars are made, and view more photos.

The P&L Club is located in the Conrad Hotel on 87 Wireless Rd. It's open to hotel guests and member's only. Fees are 50,000 Baht and 100,000 Baht for one year. (¥150,000 & ¥300,000/ $1,500 & $3,000) This event, sponsored by BK Magazine, was free. Whew!

  1. Mr GM asked me to ask you if you felt sick after you smoke the cigars. Because he has heard that cigars can make you feel very dizzy!

  2. Hi Corgi! Hm... Mr GM asks a good question.

I felt okay, but if you inhale too much, it will make you a bit dizzy, as the smoke is stronger than cigarette smoke.

The trick, I think, is to only 'hold' the smoke in your mouth for a second or two to enjoy the taste(?) or aroma, then exhale the smoke out.
